Concept project

Linden Legal is a concept website created for a law firm based in Calgary, with offices in Edmonton and Red Deer. The goal was to design a site that feels calm and personal, helps a stressed visitor see that the firm handles their matter, and makes the first inquiry feel safe to send.

Built for someone having a hard week

Nobody browses law firm websites for fun. A visitor is usually dealing with a separation, a business contract, a home purchase or a parent's estate, and they're nervous about the cost and the process. Before they share anything, they want to know the firm handles their kind of matter and that a real person will listen.

The look is calm and editorial: serif headlines, deep navy and warm neutrals, and generous white space. Photography shows lawyers at work in a bright office overlooking downtown Calgary. Short, two-part headlines like "Experienced counsel. Personal attention." keep the tone reassuring rather than formal.

  1. The Problem We Designed For

Most law firm websites read like they were written for other lawyers. Practice areas sit in a long list of legal terms, the team is a page of credentials, and the contact page is a bare form. That leaves a worried visitor's three questions unanswered:

    1. Do you handle my kind of matter?
    2. Who will I actually be dealing with?
    3. Which office is closest, and is it safe to reach out?

Every unanswered question makes it easier to put the call off or try another firm. The challenge: answer all three in plain language, then make the first step feel low-risk.

  2. The Solution

An inquiry-first homepage that moves the visitor from "is this the right firm?" to a sent inquiry, in plain language throughout.

    • A reassuring headline and two clear buttons, backed by 15+ years of experience.
    • Four practice area cards that describe real situations, not legal terms.
    • A section for Alberta businesses, from contracts to disputes.
    • Named lawyers with their roles, so visitors know who they'll talk to.
    • All three offices with addresses, so choosing a location takes seconds.
    • Testimonials labelled by matter type and city, so visitors find someone like them.
    • A short inquiry form with a practice area menu and clear disclaimers.
  3. Intended Outcomes

A concept project, not a live client engagement. The site is designed to help the firm get:

    • Inquiries that arrive already sorted by practice area.
    • Fewer "do you handle this?" calls to the front desk.
    • Inquiries shared across all three offices, not just Calgary.
    • More first-time clients from people comparing firms on Google.
    • Clients who arrive at the first consultation already trusting the firm.
